Career Advisement Webinars to Colleges, Universities, and Organizations
The skills learned from the Department of Labor’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) after separating or retiring from the military are perishable, requiring a refresher course prior to graduation from college and/or university. The refresher course is a condensed version of TAP, with a one hour presentation.
- Veterans who go straight to school upon leaving the military will be completely out of any professional working environment for up to 6 years depending upon their degree.
- Many student Veterans retain their military culture, attitudes, and demeanor, which requires their career mindset to be civilianized.
- College and University Veteran service centers are not standardized or targeted to deal with the unique challenges graduating student Veterans face versus their civilian counterparts.
